Artist Residence

Location: State College, PA

2nd year studio (spring 2011): 3 weeks

Tasked with siting a residence on an empty piece of land in an industrial park & creating the artist to inhabit it, I sought to challenge ideas on consumption. My artist creates with trash, highlighting the amount of valuable things we throw "away," knowing that there is no such place. He lives within a reclaimed shipping container and puts smaller living on display. His residence measures only 298 square feet but is nicely outfitted. He shows by example that we can all live well with a smaller footprint.
